Lungu’s Parliament speech was empty – UPND

The opposition UPND says it finds the speech President Edgar Lungu made in Parliament on friday to have been empty.

UPND Deputy spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says President Lungu’s speech did not give any hope to the Zambian youth.

Mr. Mweetwa who is also Choma Member of Parliament has told QTV News in an interview that President Lungu’s speech also failed to address key national issues that are of concern currently.

He has referred to the Constitution Amendment Bill, Electoral Reforms and National Dialogue as some of the issues his party had hoped the Presidential speech should have touched on.

Mr.  Mweetwa says it is these issues the UPND thinks are also key in the governance of the Country.

He states that for the fact that President Lungu’s speech excluded many national issues it is almost impossible for him to find anything of substance to respond to.
