MINISTRY OF GENERAL EDUCATION TO UNDERTAKE APTITUDE TESTS FOR TEACHERS INTENDED TO BE RECRUITED
The Zambia Council for Social Development-ZCSD has described plans by the Ministry of General Education to undertake aptitude tests for trained teachers intended to be recruited into teaching service as a mockery.
ZCID Executive Director Lewis mwape says the resources for aptitude testing should instead be invested into providing text books and other education materials to schools which are currently struggling with teaching and learning materials due to poor funding.
Mr Mwape is of the view that government through the Ministry of General Education must instead enforce strict regulation and monitoring of standards’ compliance throughout the teacher training cycle in both the public and private training service providers.
