Visiting Indian President Ram Nath Kovind has asked the Indian Diaspora in Zambia to become partners in India’s growth and asked them to take advantage of Overseas Citizen of India, OCI programme.
The program gives incentives to people of Indian origin to invest and own property in India regardless of which citizenship they hold.
President Kovind addressed the Indian community at the Taj Pamodzi hotel in Lusaka yesterday and said the Indian government is keen to strengthen ties with Indians abroad and as a living bridge between India and Zambia it is for the Indian community to make this partnership more meaningful.
The Indian head of state will oversee the signing of four (4) agreements with Zambia during his visit. These will be on double taxation avoidance, visa waiver for official and diplomatic passports, judicial cooperation and for setting up an entrepreneurship development centre in Zambia.
Ashok Malik, Press Secretary to the President of India confirmed this in Lusaka.
