The Zambia Police Service has denied reports that its officers beat-up Post Newspapers Editor-in-Chief Fred M’membe, his wife Mutinta and deputy managing editor Joseph Mwenda when trio was arrested for trespassing.
Police Acting Spokesperson Ray Hamoonga has since challenged Mr. M’membe to report the officers who allegedly beat them to the Police.
Mr. Hamoonga says Mr. M’membe should get a medical report so that the doctors can examine him to establish whether he was indeed beaten.
He however, states that the Law allows Police officers to use minimum force to apprehend any person resisting arrest.
