ZRA pounces on The Post

STATEMENT ON ZRA INCIDENCE AT THE POST NEWSPAPER OFFICES

THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has executed a warrant of distress on The Post and blocked workers from accessing the newspaper ’s offices on Bwinjimfumu Road and its printing plant in Lusaka’s light industrial area.

ZRA yesterday issued a new demand notice for K53 million on The Post, grounding operations of the newspaper to a halt.
This follows the Supreme Court ruling in favour of the ZRA in a case in which the High Court had granted The Post a stay which prevented the authority from levying distress in the newspaper.

Just pay. No sympathy. Civil servants should be paid on time, we need drugs in hospitals, desks just too much to mention. I pay tax so pay as well.
