POLICE in Mufulira have arrested a 41-year-old man of Chibolya township for allegedly beating his four-year-old daughter to death for asking her mother to escort her to the toilet in the early hours of Saturday.
Copperbelt commissioner of police Charity Katanga said in an interview yesterday that the incident happened around 03:20 hours at house number 775RC.
Ms Katanga named the deceased as Tracy Musankata while the suspect has been identified as Dickson Musankata, a general worker at Zesco Limited.
“Musankata repeatedly trampled on Tracy as she was lying on the floor of their house until she passed out and later died,” Ms Katanga said.
She said the child died on arrival at Ronald Ross Hospital.
