The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- arrested over 96 people countrywide for various drug-related offences over the just Heroes and Unity weekend holidays.
The commission also seized over three tonnes of fresh cannabis plants in Mpika and Chama districts, in Muchinga province.
DEC Spokesperson, Theresa Katongo has confirmed this in a statement availed to ZNBC’s TV 2 news in Lusaka.
Among those arrested is a 35-year-old man, who was trafficking cannabis at the just ended Zambia International Trade Fair in Ndola.
Meanwhile, the commission arrested a businessman of Lusaka for trafficking in 10 rocks of cocaine.
Ms Katongo identified the suspect as Reuben Soko 40, of Mtendere East.
