Kawambwa DACO calls for Natsave branch in the area
Kawambwa, February 10TH, 2015, ZANIS —— Mwansabombwe District Agricultural Coordinator (DACO), Samson Chipeta has requested the National Savings and Credit Bank to open up a branch in the area.
Mr Chipeta says since there was no banking facility in the District , the National Savings and Credit Bank management should consider opening a branch in the area.
He has since implored Nchelenge district NATSAVE Manager, Elvis Chimbinga to take the request seriously in order to ease government workers and other people’s problems in Mwansabombwe
district.
The area DACO said in Kawambwa yesterday at a handover ceremony of a tractor on loan basis to a local farmer, Maybin Mwila.
The brand new TAFE tractor with its attachments that been given on loan to Mr Mwila a Kawambwa subsistence farmer has been procured by the National Servings and Credit Bank through the Bunjimi Assets plus at a cost of K194, 249.00.
The attachments of the tractor are a Disc Hurrow and Disc plough.
Meanwhile, Mr Chipeta has thanked Mr Mwila for getting the tractor on loan saying it will enable him expand his hectorage and increase production of crops.
And Mr Mwila, a Kawambwa local farmer is reportedly to be the first small scale farmer to access the tractor loan in the area and is expected to pay back the loan in three years.
Earlier, Zambia National Union of (ZNUF) district chairperson, Frank Besa has urged other small scale farmers to emulate Mr Mwila and get tractors on loan to avoid using hoes and expand their hectares.
