Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga says cabinet has not yet approved the decision to re-introduce the National Airline.
Mr. Mukanga early this year hinted that government could announce the setting up of a national airline before the country celebrates 50 years of independence.
Mr. Mukanga has however stated that his ministry is working round the clock to ensure that it re-introduces the national airline which he believes will boost the tourism sector.
Mr. Mukanga has assured the people of Zambia that government will not relax but will continue working towards the reintroduction of an effective airline that will contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth.
He has since expressed hope that Cabinet will react quickly and positively to the memo so that a national flag carrier can be re-introduced soon.
