Chissano leaves for Mozambique

Former Mozambican President Joaquim Chissano has left for his home country Mozambique.

 

Dr Chissano left around 07:00 hours aboard a South African Airways plane at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport today.

 

Dr Chissano who was in the country for a three day state visit to commemorate Zambia’s Golden Jubilee anniversary which will be held on October 24.

 

While in the country the former Mozambique President interacted with freedom fighters at a dinner hosted in his honour.

 

He also visited the Lusaka Museum and held lecturers on the history of cooperation that has existed between Zambia and Mozambique.

 

Dr Chissano commended Zambia for attaining 50 years of Independence and expressed happiness on the massive development projects that have taken place in the country.
