Government has completed the electrification of Chief Mulonga’s palace of the Lamba people of Solwezi district at a cost of K250, 000.
Solwezi District Commissioner Crispin Likando said the project was funded using Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
The District Commissioner said the completion of the project affirms government’s commitment to electrifying chiefs’ palaces across the country.
Mr Likando said government has since allocated K100, 000 for the purchase and installation of a transformer to service Luamala rural health center and Luamala primary school.
He said another K12, 000 has been allocated for the construction of a borehole to improve water supply at the rural health center.
Mr Likando disclosed this in Solwezi yesterday when he officiated at the Kibuye Makalakala traditional ceremony of the Lamba people of Chief Mulonga.
He said government has also released K45, 000 for the reconstruction of Kimisange bridge which once completed will open up Mulonga chiefdom to the northern part of Solwezi district and that works will commence soon.
And Chief Mulonga thanked government for implementing various projects which are aimed at uplifting the living conditions and wellbeing of the people in his chiefdom.
The traditional ruler called on government to quickly work on the Kipushi road which is in a bad state.
Chief Mulonga said that the road poses a challenge to farmers and traders who are finding it difficult to transport and access markets for their produce and merchandise.
