The Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) says it acknowledges the high standards of training and development which the local Authorities Superannuation Fund (LASF) provides.
ACCA Director for Sub-Saharan Africa Jamil Ampomah said this in Lusaka today during the ACCA approved Gold Award Ceremony to LASF.
Mr Ampomah said LASF has gained Gold approval in recognition of training and development provided for students pursuing the ACCA course of studies at the ACCA Professional level.
He said LASF has also been awarded the ACCA Gold Approved Employer-Professional Development status in recognition of training development for finance professionals employed by LASF.
Mr. Ampomah said LASF now joins the network of over 8,500 employers globally who are gratified to see the number of pension institutions in Zambia exhibiting commitment to human capital management.
He disclosed that a key finding of the ACCA research on talent management undertaken in 2010 revealed that out of the total number of organisations surveyed only 20 percent had a talent strategy that fully integrated ACCA.
Speaking earlier, LASF Director of Finance George Chileshe noted that the award was a clear demonstration of LASFs commitment to talent management and its quest to yield high returns.
Mr. Chileshe said LASF will endeavor to provide qualified and skilled labour that will compete favourably on the local and international market.
