Former ZAF deputy Air Commander Zaza dies
Lusaka, June 24, 2014,ZANIS—Former Zambia Air Force Deputy Air Commander and Chief of Air Staff, Major General Songolo Zaza has died.
The late Major general Zaza who served as ZAF Deputy Air Chief from 1991 to 1997, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday June 24, 2014, after an illness.
His brother Ambassador Francis Simenda confirmed General Zaza’s death in a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
Amb. Simenda said the funeral gathering is at plot No 12245 off Mosi-o-Tunya Road-Extension, in Lusaka’s Chalala residential area.
He said burial of the late general Zaza is expected to take place on Friday, 27th June, 2014.
The Late General Zaza joined the then Northern Rhodesian Air Force in 1965 and served through its transformation to the current ZAF.
General Zaza was born on July 21, 1945 and is survived by five children and eight grandchildren.
