He said the DC is committed in taking development to the people of Mitete District saying for the first time the district has received the ambulance which will be used to carry patients to referral hospitals.
Mr Lemba stated that most women clubs in the district have benefited from funds from government, adding that residents in the area have also benefited from relief maize.
Another local senior citizen, identified as Michael Kayombo, said for the first time Mitete district will celebrate District Agricultural Show which is an indication that Mitete is a district on its own.
The senior citizens have since called on government to construct staff houses and offices so that officers under Mitete can shift and work within their district.
Currently, officers under Mitete district are operating from Lukulu district due to lack of accommodation and offices in Mitete.
