Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) says it has so far spent over K286 million from the Eurobond money allocated for the rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure.
ZRL Chief Executive Officer Professor Muyenga Atanga has told Qfm News that the K286 million has been specifically used on procurement of the required equipment and materials.
Professor Atanga explains that as from October 2013, there has been tremendous work done on the railway line enabling trains to move at about 50 kilometers per hour.
He stresses that Zambia Railways Limited will remain committed to ensuring that the railway system becomes more effective and reliable.
