A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl of Kapiri Mposhi has been burnt to death while two others escaped unhurt after a house they were sleeping in caught fire.
Acting police public relations officer Rae Hamoonga said in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday that the incident happened on Wednesday around 21:00 hours in Soweto Compound.
Mr Hamoonga said the body of the deceased is lying in the Kapiri Mposhi District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
“It is believed that a burning candle was left in the room where the three were sleeping. Hence, fire started when it got finished,” Mr Hamoonga said.
