ZANIS reports from Luangwa that seven of the victims will be buried in a mass grave in Luangwa while two will be put to rest in Lusaka.
The burial procession of the deceased is expected to take place after police conduct a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe who visited the bereaved families has conveyed President Michael Sata’s condolences and warned against politicising the funeral.
A spirit of unity was demonstrated at the hospital when MMD Vice President for administration, Brian Chituwo and other party members, joined Lusaka Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe and PF candidate in the forthcoming Feira parliamentary by-elections, Patrick Ngoma to visit accident survivors in the hospital.
Dr. Chituwo, Mr. Kangwa and Mr. Sikazwe took time to encourage the injured people and wished them a quick recovery.
Katondwe mission hospital management was happy with government’s quick response towards helping the accident victims.
At the funeral gatherings, Mr. Kangwa disclosed that government would provide necessary requirements to the bereaved families in order to guarantee a dignified burial of the dead
