Patriotic Front-PF- Deputy Party Secretary General Mumbi Phiri has called for peace and unity in the country ahead of the general elections next year.
Speaking in Chinsali during the 2015 Third Muchinga Division Police Annual Ball held at Chinsali Girls Secondary School, Mrs. Phiri said there is need for all political parties to ensure that the country continues to enjoy peace ahead of the 2016 general elections.
She also said as a motherand political party leader, it pains her to see young people being used as tools of violence.
And Mrs Phiri says she is impressed with the levels of development in Muchinga Province.
She says the PF Government has tremendously changed the face of the province through construction of roads, hospitals, and schools.
Speaking at the same function, Muchinga Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe called on police officers in the province to be professional as they execute their duties.
Mr. Nundwe also warned officers to desist from taking part in active politics.
And Standwell Lungu who represented the Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani, said the newly created police headquarter in Muchinga will soon be commissioned.
