Proflight Zambia will start direct flights to Durban from next month, linking Lusaka to the home of Africa’s busiest port and one of its most popular tourist destinations.
Proflight Director of Government Industry Affairs Captain Phillip Lemba in a statement says the latest route is part of the airline’s strategy to expand across Southern Africa, making Lusaka a hub for air travel throughout the region.
Captain Lemba says Proflight will fly three times a week to Durban from September 22, using its 50-seater CRJ-100 aircraft.
He says in the event demand proves strong, the airline hopes to add a fourth weekly flight to the Lusaka-Durban schedule.
Captain Lemba says Fares will start from $210 / K1,785 one-way excluding taxes, with children at half price.
He says flights to Durban will depart Lusaka at 11:00 hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Durban at 13:30hrs.
