Two Rainbow Party officials have been arrested

Two Rainbow Party officials have been arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm in Luwingu district.

 

Acting Northern Province Police Commissioner Lackson Sakala confirmed the development to ZANIS on Monday adding that a pistol Super cot 1911 has since been recovered.

 

Mr Sakala named the suspects as John Siame 37 and Peter Kashala 30, who is National Deputy Chairman for Rainbow Party.

 

 

The two suspects are both of Matero compound in Lusaka.

 

Mr Sakala said the suspects were apprehended yesterday around 11:00 Hours at Big Company Bar and have since been detained.

 

He has since appealed to political party members to campaign peacefully in Lubansenshi constituency ahead of the parliamentary by-election.
