A 44-YEAR-OLD man of Kaole village in Mpika has died on the spot after being hit by a Higer passenger bus registration number ALE 5888 belonging to Zampost.
Muchinga Province division criminal investigations officer Febian Mwaba has confirmed the accident which occurred on Friday around 09:30 hours at Kaole village in Mpika.
Mr Mwaba said the accident happened when the driver of the bus, identified as Widson Kanynji, 51, of Lusaka, failed to keep to his lane and went to hit the man, identified as Brian Mulenga, 44, who was walking along the road.
The deceased’s body is lying in Mpika District Hospital mortuary and the driver of the bus has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
