Zambia’s Godfrey Chama has been ranked 10th in the world in the youth 800 meters race after he finished fourth at the ongoing World Youth Championship.

This is despite Chama failing to make it to the finals of the 800 meters race but managed to beat his personal best after he clocked 1- Minute 52 seconds.

And Zambia Amateur Athletics Association President Elias Mpondela says Chama’s achievement is an indication that the selection criteria is working.

Mpondela said Chama has proved that he is an international athlete and that his performance is expected to improve during the Commonwealth Youth Games.

He was speaking in an interview with TV 2 Sport in Lusaka on Friday.
