POST Editor-in-chief and reporter Mukosha Funga have been granted a k30 00 bail today.
This comes after they were arrested and charged for the offence of publication of classified information. (C/Sec 5 Cap 111 of the State Security Act). Post Newspaper published an article on 17th April, 2015 which stated Anti-Corruption Commission Director Genral had written to the President informing him that ACC was investigating Mr. Kaizer Zulu for having solicited for US$ 200,000 from a Chinese contractor in order to fix an appointment for him with the President.
Magistrate Humphrey Chitalu said he had studied the State Security Act and stipulates that the offence slapped on the duo is bailable. “I therefore grant them cash bail of K30 000 each,two working sureties Lusaka residents and in their own recognizance, ” Mr Chitalu said.
