His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia has congratulated United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron on his decisive election victory during the May 7, 2015 general elections.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, President Lungu stated that the re–election of Mr. Cameron for another five-year term of office is an affirmation and clear testimony of the confidence the British people have in his vision and leadership qualities.
“On behalf of my Government, the people of Zambia, and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to congratulate you on your decisive victory. Zambia and Britain share warm and cordial historic ties which have characterized our relations over the years,” the President said.
“It is my fervent hope that during your second term office and beyond, these relations will continue to flourish. I therefore, look forward to developing a beneficial working relationship with you on matters of mutual interest to our countries. I wish Your Excellency, personal good health and success in discharging the functions of your high office.”
