——–The Kaoma Central Lions Club has donated an assortment of goods to the district’s community hospital in a bid to cushion the suffering of users of the medical facility.
The donation of foodstuffs was made to nine pregnant women who are accommodated at the hospital’s mothers’ shelter since they come from far-flung places.
Kaoma Central Lions Club president, Mwangala Mbangweta, said the charity organisation made the donation in order to fulfil its mission to help the needy in society after realising how vulnerable communities in Kaoma district were.
Ms Mbangweta said the Lions Club also donated some cleaning materials to the hospital and has further adopted the male ward at the health facility which has 32 bed spaces.
She said it was distressing to learn that the hospital was struggling to maintain high standards of hygiene due to a lack of cleaning materials.
And receiving the donation, Kaoma District Community Hospital nursing officer, Penjo Mwilaba, thanked the Kaoma Central Lions Club for the gesture which she said would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of patients at the institution.
