—-United Church of Zambia Synod Bishop, Mutale Mulumbwa, has congratulated Sixth Republican President, Edgar Lungu, for emerging victorious in the January 20 Presidential election.

Bishop Mulumbwa, however, says the newly-elected President has a big role to play in uniting the country and work hard for the good of Zambians.

ZANIS reports that Bishop Mulumbwa said this in Mansa at St Paul’s United Church of Zambia during the farewell service for Rev Simon Muwowo who is going for missionary work to Canada.

And Mansa Member of Parliament, Chitalu Chilufya, has described Rev Muwowo as good and visionary leader who led St Paul’s Church in Mansa well.

In a speech read for him by Mansa District Administrative Officer, Evans Sikabbuba, Dr Chilufya urged other Church leaders to emulate the outgoing reverend’s personal attributes.

He has since called on Rev Muwowo to continue with his good works and represent Zambia diligently in Canada.

And in his farewell massage, Rev Muwowo said his hope for the people of Zambia is to see that they all unite as one.

Rev Muwowo observed that Zambia has since remained united and said that God will prevail over the continued unity in the country.

Rev Muwowo has since commended United Party for National Development leader, Hakainde Hichilema, for conceding defeat and for the words of peace he gave to the nation.
