—Patriotic Front (PF) councillors in Pambashe Constituency in Kawambwa district of Luapula province have declared their wards as no-go areas for opposition
political parties ahead of the January 20, 2015 presidential election.
The councillors made the declaration at the PF party officials’ meeting held at the parliamentary office of Mushota in Kawambwa over the weekend.
They told the area MP, Ronald Chitotela, that they are ready for the January 20, 2015 election as they will give PF presidential candidate, Edgar Lungu, massive votes.
The civic leaders denied reports that some of them are supporting the UPND Presidential candidate, Hakainde Hachilema.
They said they are only supporting the PF because of the developmental projects it has done in the constituency, citing the tarring of the Kawambwa – Mushota – Luwingu road and revamping the Chishinga Cattle Ranch.
The councillors noted that they have confidence in the PF party and the developmental programmes it has brought in the country within three years and will support Mr Lungu.
They added that they cannot make a mistake and vote for another political party because they have seen what the PF has done in the area.
Meanwhile, Pambashe MP, Ronald Chitotela, has urged the PF party officials to unite and work hard ahead of the next year’s Presidential election.
Mr Chitotela also advised the party officials to avoid violence but conduct the campaigns in a peaceful manner.
