—-Lukulu District Commissioner, Precious Muyenga, has urged civil servants in the district to not overlook matters related to corruption.
And Ms Muyenga has called for information on corruption to trickle down to the grass root of government departments in the district so that they will not be found wanting.
Speaking during the sensitisation meeting on corruption by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for heads of government departments in the district yesterday, Ms Muyenga reminded the officers to be read and understand the code of ethics for the public service which gives public workers direction as they represent the government while offering services.
And ACC Senior Community Education Officer from headquarters, Rebecca Mulengwa, said how government resources are utilised matters most to the public.
Ms Mulengwa said the core business of government officers is to serve the people through administering and providing services.
She explained that corruption has devastating effects on the country’s economic development and every sector in the country.
