Government is saddened by the road
misshape that claimed 27 lives on the Mbala– Nakonde road on Saturday.
And Government has also learnt with shock and sorrow the death of former
diplomat ambassador Love Mtesa who died in Lusaka yesterday after an
illness.
ZANIS reports that Chief Government spokesperson Joseph Katema said this in
a statement released in Lusaka today.
Dr. Katema said that the accident is of immense grief and sorrow to the
nation.
He said government is doing everything possible through the Northern
Provincial Administration to alleviate the burden of the bereaved families.
Dr Katema has urged the Road Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA) and other law
enforcement agencies to work closely with motorists and other road users in
ensuring that traffic rules and regulations are observed in order to make
roads safer.
And Dr Katema said the nation has lost a distinguished national who
rendered great service as a diplomat and in other sectors of the Zambian
society.
He said Mr. Mtesa leaves behind an impeccable and enviable legacy of
distinguished service.
