Most Zambian drivers not safety conscious

Lusaka, Nov 8, 2014, ZANIS…..Tyre King regional Fleet and Technical Director Andre Dippenaar says the major cause of road accidents in Zambia is attributed to drivers not following road safety precautions.

Mr Dippenaar said most drivers do not observe traffic regulations whenever they experience a break down adding that there was need for education on this aspect.

Mr  Dippenaar said this when he addressed women drivers and the general public at the Trye King  head office in Kalingalinga township in Lusaka today.

Mr Dippenaar said most women drivers in Zambia face a lot of challenges whenever they were stuck on the road either due to a tyre puncture or other mechanical faults experienced on their vehicles.

He said road safety precautions were paramount not only to women drivers but to all drivers using public roads in order to safeguard lives.

Mr Dippenaar said his company was determined to ensure that public drivers are enlightened on the issue of observing road safety precautions.
