Vice President Guy Scott said he is happy with the pre golden jubilee rehearsals currently being displayed ahead of Zambia’s 50 years of independence.

Dr Scott said this last night when previewing the final rehearsals of the Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The Vice President who was accompanied by his wife Charlotte commended the instructors for the job well done.

The Zambia defence force team and pupils drawn from various schools across the country conducted several drills in readiness of the golden jubilee celebrations.

Dr Scott expressed hope that the performances will be more pleasing on the eve and the actual day of Zambia’s independence commemoration.

Present during the final rehearsal were Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska, Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga, Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Christopher Mulenga, Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister Nickolas Banda and other senior government officials.

And Zambia @ 50 Chairperson Mulenga Kapwepwe said the performances were a half-dressed rehearsal and that the full performance will be presented on the eve of Independence Day.

Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming was also delighted with the presentation.

He said the mass display will be more appealing on the actual day as the participants will be dressed in the appropriate attire.
