Chinsali DC urges post jubilee harmony
Chinsali, 16 October, 2014, ZANIS…Chinsali District Commissioner Evelyn Kangwa has appealed to Zambians to exercise harmony before, during and after the Golden Jubilee celebrations next week.
Ms Kangwa said this in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today.
She said Zambians including other people living in the country should be patriotic and remain united during this period of celebrating the country’s 50 years of independence.
She said as excitement head of 24th October heightens, there is need for citizens to continue living in harmony regardless of their political affiliation ,beliefs or tribe.
Ms Kangwa stressed that the peace that Zambia has been enjoying for the past 50 years should not be in vein by people resorting to riotous behavior and bad activities during the independence commemorations .
The DC has further urged Zambians to display good culture and behavior which they are known for and patriotism to one another and the nation at large.
The Golden Jubilee independence celebrations are being held under the theme “commemorating God’s favour for 50 years of independence for continued Peace, Unity, Democracy, Patriotism and Prosperity.”
Meanwhile, Muchinga Deputy Permanent Secretary Davy Chanda says preparations ahead of the golden jubilee celebrations for Muchinga province had advanced.
He said a delegation from Tarzana and Malawi were also expected to join the celebrations inNakonde and Isoka districts.
