The American International Health Alliance(AIHA) has appointed Linda Kasonka as country director for programs in Zambia with effect from October 6, 2014.
American International Health Alliance Twinning Center Program Dictator Carl Henn said prior to her appointment, Ms Kasonka worked for chemonics International as deputy Chief of party for Health Support project from 2010 to 2013.
Mr Henn disclosed the appointment of Ms Kasonka to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in a press statement in Lusaka today.
He further revealed that Ms Kasonka also worked as chief of party from 2013 to 2014 as well as country director for SAFAIDS Zambia from 2005 to 2010.
Ms Kasonka has previously held a position on the National Economic advisory Council in Zambia from 2003- 2005 among other several positions in her professional career.
She graduated from the University of Botswana with a master of Arts in public administration and Management in 2003 and earned a bachelor of degree in Public administration with a minor in development studies from the University of Zambia in 1999.
The new AIHA country director for Zambia is a development professional of the highest calibre who joins the AIHA with steering credentials and Impeccable references.

Linda was graduated from the University of Botswana with a Master of Arts in Public Administration and Management in 2003 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration with a minor in Development Studies from the University of Zambia in 1999.

AIHA’s health systems strengthening and capacity development programs in Zambia include PEPFAR-supported twinning partnerships with Livingstone General Hospital and University Teaching Hospital, the Palliative Care Alliance of Zambia, the Zambia Institute of Mass Communication Educational Trust, and the Zambian Defense Forces Military Medical Services, as well as a role in Zambia Rising, a USAID-funded project led by Save the Children and designed to strengthen Zambia’s social welfare workforce’s capacity to provide services to orphans and vulnerable children.
