The Road Development Agency (RDA) has awarded a Chinese firm UNIK Construction Company the contract to tar the 74 kilo meter Niko /Monze road at a cost of K229.9 million.
RDA Senior Manager Public Relations Loyce Saili confirmed the development with ZANIS in Namwala in a telephone interview today.
Mrs Saili said the Chinese company will work in conjunction with a Zambian company Buildcon construction and that the project is scheduled to run from July 2014 to July 2016.
Meanwhile, Senior Chief Bright Nalubamba has commended the Patriotic Front government for fulfilling its campaign promises by commencing the tarring of the Niko /Monze road.
Senior Chief Nalubamba was speaking in a telephone interview with ZANIS in Namwala .
He said once completed the road will benefit a lot of people in the district.
