ZNBC to open up channels for local content

Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation will provide a platform to promote local content on its channel

This means local producers will be allowed to showcase their content on ZNBC.

Director of Programmes Berry Lwando announced during the opening of the Young Cinema in Zambia Filmmaking Training workshop at the Mass Media Complex in Lusaka on Monday.

The film-making training workshop is being held by the Euphoria Borealis Film Association of Finland, in partnership with the Zambia Short Film Festival.

And Finnish Embassy Programme Officer for Trade, Investment and Culture, Paivi Poyhonen says his government’s suppport in providing skills to young film makers is contribution to Zambia’s Golden Jubilee Celebration.

And National Arts Council Chairperson, Mulenga Kapwepwe says the workshop will help sharpen the skills of young Zambian filmmakers.

Director of Planning and Development at the Ministry of Education, David Ndopu says film production is an industry that has created self-sustainable employment for many youths.
