Zambia will for the first time host the World Strongman Championship League in Lusaka tomorrow.
Strongman Championship League director Marcel Mostern said the Lusaka event will be the 11thstage of the 16 series league.
Mostern said the tournament has attracted a total of 10 high profile athletes including reigning world strongest man Krzysztof Radzikoski of Poland.
Meanwhile, Zambia strongman champion Paul Mwanza will not compete in this year’s tournament.
Mwanza said the athletes are beyond his league but will use the tournament as a learning experience.
The Zambian Champion is in the 88 kgs category and cannot compete in the tournament that requires competing athletes to weigh 110 kgs.
Mwanza expressed optimism of participating in the tournament next year.
And tournament organizer Emma Wood urged Zambians to come in numbers and watch the tournament as it is the first time the country is hosting such an event.
