USAID Assistant Administrator for Democracy, conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance, Nancy Lindborg says South Sudan is the world’s most food insecure country.

She spoke at a briefing at the ongoing US-Africa Summit in Washington DC calling on Africa leaders to join the US in what she called Global Resilience Partnership.

The partnership is a proactive strategy to prevent famine and cycle of conflict in Africa. The briefing also featured fascinating questions from journalists

A similar briefing by the Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne C. Richard spoke on refugees situation in Africa and responded to questions about how government policies by African leaders and American leaders are responsible for fueling refugees around the world.

CMPI will bring you details of this story and others as we cover the historic summit from Washington DC
