—-Tag of War Association of Zambia (TOWAZ) president, Amos Musonda, says all is set for the Africa Championship slated for July 15 in South Africa.
Speaking to Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) Sport in Lusaka, Musonda said four groups have formed a team consisting 50 people that have been drilled for the prestigious competition.
He said the four groups of the 50 member-team consisting males and females will take part in various categories such as heavy weight and light weight.
Musonda said the male team will take part in the 700kg and 650kg while the female will take part in the 540 kg category.
Four countries including Zambia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and the host South Africa, will take part in the championship.
South Africa, which is third in ranking below Germany and the Netherlands, is the current title holder of the championship.
Meanwhile, Musonda said the major challenge that retards the development of the sport is lack of sponsorship.
He added that his association still lacks equipment such as ropes.
Musonda, however, said that the Ministry of Education has given the association a leeway to take the sport to schools for talent identification purposes.
