Auditor General Anna Chifungula says she will continue executing her duties diligently despite holding a sensitive position in the country.
The Auditor General was speaking when she was conferred with a Doctorate Honours Degree in Accounting and Auditing by University of Lusaka.
Dr Chifungula was conferred alongside Sikutwa and Associates limited Executive Director Lawrence Sikutwa.
Dr Chifungula said she will continue to hold public workers accountable by revealing irregularities and ensure that persons involved in the mismanagement of public funds are prosecuted.
She noted that during her line of duty she has made many enemies but stated that she is grateful that there are institutions like University of Lusaka that recognize her onerous efforts.
And Sikutwa and Associates limited Executive Director Lawrence Sikutwa propreitor of Madison subsidiary companies said entrepreneurship is key to economic development.
The executive director who was conferred with a Doctorate in Entrepreneurship and Management said youths should be innovative and versatile in order to be successful in life.
Meanwhile, University of Lusaka Chancellor Caleb Fundanga said it is imperative for Zambia to honour its own heroes than counting on foreign accolades.
Dr Fundanga said Zambians should be awarded for their noble contributions to national development.
And University of Zambia Vice Chancellor Stephen Simukanga said the duo are a source of inspiration to the young generation as they serve as role models.
Professor Simukanga urged Zambians to emulate the two honourees.
And Africa World Bank representative Freddie Kwesiga said every success brings development and shakes off poverty at all levels.
