North-west PS cautions public workers to be efficient, effective
Solwezi, June 24, ZANIS—North-western Province Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga has cautioned public service workers to be effective and efficient in service delivery if people are to appreciate government’s programmes.
Mr Malupenga said inefficiency and ineffectiveness among public service workers in the province has made it difficult for people to appreciate government programmes.
He said it is imperative for public service workers to change their attitude towards work because they are an integral part of the government system through which development is delivered to the people.
Speaking when he addressed public service workers yesterday in Solwezi during Africa Public Service day, Mr Malupenga said sustainable development can only be achieved if the public service remains committed and practical in the execution of their duties.
Speaking on behalf of workers, Principal Resettlement Officer Jackson Makupa pledged to work with passion and diligence in delivery of services to the people.
Mr Makupa said without a committed public service Zambia cannot achieve its social and economic goals.
