Judge Mwape put to rest

Ndola, March 7, ZANIS ——- Hundreds of Ndola residents today turned up at Kasenshi cemetery to pay their last respects for the late Retired Judge Reuben Mwape who died on March 3, 2013.

Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda who attended the burial said the late Judge Mwape will not only be remembered for his hard work but will also be remembered for his generosity. 

Justice Chibesakunda said the country has lost a giant in the legal profession as Judge Mwape was a bundle of wisdom who acted competently in the way he prosecuted his cases.

Justice Chibesakunda described the judge Mwape’s demise to a big tree which she said when it falls the birds under it get scattered because it leaves a mark of broken hearts.

She said the late Judge was a soft spoken and humble man who was slow to lose his temper even in contemptuous matters in court and that he was a fair and firm Judge.

The Acting Chief Justice Chibesakunda said the late Mwape was dedicated to church and contributed a lot towards the charity work who she said will be greatly missed and remembered for his generosity acts.

Justice Chibesakunda passed on her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for its strength during the time of mourning Judge Mwape.

The late retired Justice Mwape was born on April 20, 1924 in Mufurila and served the country diligently in various capacities up to the position of a High Court Judge when he retired.
