Nissan Hard body rams into Truck killing two die in Chipata
Chipata, March 1st, 2013, ZANIS — Two died on the spot yesterday along the Great East Road in Petauke District after the Nissan hard body vehicle they were travelling in hit into a stationary truck.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Grace Chipalila confirmed the development in Chipata yesterday.
Ms. Chipalila has identified the decease as Paul Phiri and Geoffrey Banda, respectively.
The accident happened at 12:10 hours at Kafula 12 kilometers east of Petauke boma.
This was when Nissan hard body registration No AGE 1019 driven by Paul Phiri rammed into stationery Truck registration no MN 3335 of Malawi which was being driven by Kabulanda Kalapa of Mzuzu district.
She stated that another passenger Lewis Mwale survived the accident.
She further said that the bodies of the two deceased were lying in Petauke District Hospital Mortuary waiting for postmortem.
