THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Southern Province has warned opposition civic leaders against delaying implementation of developmental projects in their areas.
Southern Province Political Secretary Simalonga Siachoona says the party would not condone politicking by some councilors who delay to implement various projects in the province due to their respective political affiliations.
ZANIS reports from Choma District that Mr Siachona said this today on Macha community radio live programme dubbed ‘Your Leader.’
He said government was carrying out various developmental projects to improve the living standards of all Zambians.
“If a developmental project is delayed by a civic leader or Member of Parliament, as residents, you have the right to question your leader because he doesn’t want to work for you,” he said.
He said this in response to callers concerns who asked why development was lagging in rural areas.
Mr Siachoona urged councillors to be proactive and improve communication with their electorate to enable them work collectively in addressing challenges.
He said the PF Government was determined to implement various developmental projects which were creating job opportunities in the province.
And PF Choma District political secretary Gloria Mapani said the party was implementing effective mobilisation strategies to strengthen the party structures in Choma.
Ms Mapani said the joining of many people from opposition political parties to PF in the province was a positive signal that the ruling party was growing due to President Michael Sata’s tireless efforts to develop Zambia.
