KK receives family award
Lusaka, February 15, 2014, ZANIS…First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda has been awarded by two organisations for his contribution to family building at both local and international level.
The World Family Organisation (WFO) and the Families Are Nations (FAN) awarded Dr Kaunda at a ceremony held at his Kabulonga office in Lusaka yesterday for his outstanding work in preserving and building families.
Presenting the award to Drr Kaunda, FAN President Judith Mwila said her organisation was showing appreciation to the first republican president for the exceptional family leadership he has exhibited at local, regional and international level.
Ms Mwila who is also WFO vice president said Dr Kaunda’s work in building families in Zambia has been very outstanding.
And Dr Kaunda commended the two organisations for their work aimed at helping the less privileged in society especially women and children.
He said he will inform President Michael Sata who he described as a great actor and player in development know about the good works that FAN and WFO are doing.
