A resident of Nasunda Village in Mitete District of Western Province has appealed to Zambia Wild Life Authority (ZAWA) to crop crocodiles in the area that have put people’s lives in danger.
Mr. Lumfwendo Pumulo disclosed that this week on Monday around 15:00 hours a woman of Nasunda Village was caught and killed by a crocodile.
He said the woman met her fate when she was bathing in Lweti River.
Mr. Pumulo named the deceased as Telesiya Byemba aged between 70 and 75 adding that the body of the deceased was not yet retrieved by Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Pumulo said they are many crocodiles in the same area where the woman was caught saying it is causing fear among the people.
He has since appealed to ZAWA to help the people in the area by cropping the beasts that have become a nuisance.
