Govt to train 2000 teachers
Kawambwa, February 5, 2014, ZANIS – Government has this year set
aside K21 million to train 2000 teachers country-wide.
The training will be in selected subjects to meet the current needs in the teaching curriculum.
Education deputy minister David Mabumba disclosed the development to
the Zambia News and Information Services in Kawambwa yesterday.
Mr. Mabumba said 300 teachers in Luapula province will benefit from the fast
track program which is being offered by Saint Eugene University
through electronic learning (e-learning) at Don Bosco Catholic
Centre in Mansa.
He was speaking in Kawambwa when he addressed teachers at Kanengo
primary school which has since been upgraded to a secondary school.
And provincial acting education officer Smith Bweupe has challenged
teachers to seize the opportunity and further their studies.
