A 21 year old woman has testified in the Lusaka magistrate court how she had sex with a former diplomat Friday Nkamba and how she and other ‘girls’ he recruited and kept at his home in Emmasdale used to pay him K20 earned from prostitution.
This is in a matter in which Nkamba, 60, is charged with one count of procuring a child or others for prostitution contrary to the laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that Nkamba, between January 1, 2012 and October 29, 2013 in Lusaka did procure five girls to become common prostitutes.
Testifying before resident magistrate William Banda, Elizabeth Ngoma said she was introduced to Nkamba by her friend at a night club in April last year.
Ngoma said her friend asked her to accompany her to a home for a certain man who was keeping girls at his residence.
She said when they reached Nkamba’s home, they found him in the living room while three other girls were in the bedroom.
She added that Nkamba later joined the girls in bed where the six of them slept on one bed.
Ngoma narrated that she continued staying at Nkamba’s place with the other girls until one day when they came back from a night club, he forced her to have sex with him.
She further said Nkamba used to demand for a K20 from each of the girls from the money they allegedly earned from prostitution.
And the arresting officer in the matter, Zachariah Tande from Emmasdale Police Station told the court that some of the girls who were supposed to testify in the matter have run away as they were allegedly being threatened by the accused person.
Detective Constable Tande further said the accused had also allegedly threatened one of the witnesses in the matter that he would die from cancer if he gave evidence to the court.
Magistrate Banda therefore warned Nkamba to stop interfering with the witnesses saying if it was proved, he will cease to enjoy his bond conditions.
The case has since been adjourned to January 20, 2014 for continuation of trial.
You re right Bro!
What a shame. What is k20 at his stage in life.
Even if life is hard this is too low!
