Vice President Guy Scott says former Zambia Railways limited (ZRL) Chief Executive officer Professor Clive Chirwa should stop making silly public pronouncements about his passport.
Dr. Scott has told Qfm News in an interview that government will not lose anything even if Professor Chirwa goes ahead and renounces his citizenship.
Dr. Scot says he does not know what Professor Chirwa is trying to achieve by renouncing his Zambian citizenship when there are many other people fighting to have Zambian citizenship.
Professor Chirwa had given government a 24 hours ultimatum on Friday to give him back his passport or he will renounce his Zambian citizenship.
He is facing corruption allegations in the courts of law which have led to his passport being withheld.
