UNDP country director Viola Morgan said there was need for all stakeholders including academic institutions such as the Copperbelt University (CBU) to step up efforts to build a more just, secure and sustainable future for all Zambians.
Ms Morgan said this in Kitwe yesterday during the opening of a UNDP dissemination seminar on Zambia’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) report 2013 held at the CBU.
She said with less than 1, 000 days to the 2015 target date for achieving the MDGs, focused national development efforts could make a difference for Zambia.
“Through accelerated action, Zambia can achieve the MDGs and generate momentum for an ambitious and inspiring post-2015 development framework, which will lead it to being a prosperous middle-income country.
“Now is the time for all stakeholders including academic institutions to step up efforts to build a more just, secure and sustainable future for all Zambians,” she said.
