A 30 year old man of Siavonga has been stabbed to death following a quarrel that ensued with his friend at a drinking spree on July 20th
Wizi Chimwaza 30, a gardener at Hill man fishing company was allegedly killed with a knife by Christopher Manyepa, 48, of the same area after the accused picked up a quarrel with his friend at a drinking spree.
ZANIS in Siavonga reports that Dickson Chimwaza, father of the deceased, confirmed in an interview this morning that the incident happened around 01:00 hours today. Mr Chimwaza said Manyepa is alleged to have stabbed Chimwaza ,who was drank, with a knife around the neck, chest and the abdomen.
” According to the eye witnesses, Manyepa who was sobber dragged the deceased out of the drinking spree while quarrelling to about 400 metres away from Manyepa’s house. It was during that time when Manyepa pulled out a knife from his trouser pocket and knifed his friend three times on the body ,” said
Mr Chimwaza amid sobs.
He said immediately after the incident, the police were informed and that the accused person was arrested around 04:00 hours and is currently detained in a custody.
Efforts to get a comment from Siavonga police proved futile by press time.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased person is lying in Siavonga district hospital mortuary waiting post mortem.
